Wizard Academy Applications
Optional character creation minigame for wizard characters to determine which magical academy they attended, providing roleplay opportunities and networking connections within The Crescent.
Application Process
-
Three attempts to apply (each represents months of preparation)
-
Each attempt: Choose a specific academy, then roll 2d20 + Intelligence modifier + School modifier
-
If accepted to multiple schools, you may choose your school
Choose Before Rolling
You must pick which academy you're applying to before rolling dice. No switching to easier schools after seeing your result, and you cannot have a result "falldown" to a lower tier school!

- Self-taught hedge wizard
- Environmental researcher studying Wardstone decay
- Arcane accountant optimizing spell components
- Archive apprentice organizing magical disaster records
Using This System
This minigame provides:
-
Roleplay hooks through academic rivalries and alumni networks
-
Social connections within The Crescent's magical community
-
Background justification for magical knowledge and specializations
-
Faction relationships based on institutional politics
The system reflects The Crescent's themes of institutional complexity and the importance of established networks in a world where infrastructure and political connections matter as much as individual ability.
